Study piano with one of the top pianist on the scene today. Whether a beginner or seasoned professional, Mitch Kerper has the experience and teaching ability to bring out the best of your talent. His extraordinary accomplishments in the music business as a pianist, conductor and songwriter are second to none.

Mitch is widely recognized as an accompanist to some of the top acts in the music business. Having worked with the best, he has the know how and sensitivity to arrange the songs, conduct the band and accompany singers in all aspects of their performance.

Mitch's career began when Leslie Gore asked him to conduct and play piano for her. Then it was on to be the youngest assistant musical director ever to conduct and play on Broadway for the musical "Hair". He went on the road and worked with such artists as Irene Cara, Manhattan Transfer, Kenny Rogers, Lana Cantrell, Loretta Devine, Maxine Andrews, Margaret Whiting, The Staple Singers and The Kirby Stone Four.

Mitch has worked with such jazz greats as Chet Baker, Dave Liebman, Steve Grossman, Lennie White, Lee Konitz and Buddy Rich. He is author of the book "Jazz Riffs for Piano".

He conducted the Broadway musical "The Wiz" and performed in Vinette Carol's "But Never Jam Today". He played for Lorreta Devine in "Do Your Thing Miss Truth".

Mitch worked for two years as musical director for Royal Viking Cruise Line. He wrote the theme songs for television shows such as Another World, Beat the Clock, The Doctors, Issues & Answers, ABC Monday Nite Baseball, ABC One Life to Live and ABC The Best of Everything. He has received an Emmy nomination for his songwriting. He wrote the music for two plays, "Verbina" and "Is The Real You Really You."

Mitch graduated from NYU with a bachelor degree in musical composition. He studied with Lenny Tristano, Richie Beirach and Chick Corea.
